When we put most of our focus on one thing, usually our diet or exercise routine, we are doing two things; 1) we’re looking for the quickest, most convenient fix to make ourselves feel good, and 2) we’re ignoring all the other factors that play into the reason we weren’t doing that thing to begin with. For instance, if we decide we’re going to “start that diet on Monday”, we’ll do our shopping that weekend, maybe even prep some meals, load up the fridge with fruits and veggies, and throw away all the junk we have stashed. We’ll totally kick ass for a week, maybe even a month or two.

But then we’ll start to notice that the scale isn’t reflecting our hard work the way we thought it would. We’re losing confidence that we’re doing it “right”, maybe stepping on the scale more often than we’d like, and the questions of “what’s wrong with me” start to sound louder than ever.

Let me ask you - did you notice the difference in your sleep? Did you find yourself being a little more active than usual? Were your daily tasks getting any easier? Was your mood improved at all? Reduced anxiety or general sadness?
