How I started to Live More

…confidently, intentionally, purposefully, and freely.

I’m a Certified Wellness Practitioner, Certified Health Coach, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and Youth Fitness Specialist.

I am a mom of 6, ranging in ages from 6 to 24, as well as a mother-in-law AND a new YaYa!

Yep, I’ve been parenting for more than TWO decades! From being a teen mom to a single mom of two, to a step mother of 3, and having who I affectionately refer to as my “do-over baby”, I have experienced SO much, and am grateful for every step of the way.

Included in those 20+ years of parenting:

Gestational Diabetes //:// Prediabetes

Depression //:// Single motherhood

Marriage //:// Divorce

Extreme weight gain //:// Extreme weight loss

Disordered eating //:// Body dysmorphia

Periods of intense exercise //:// Periods of sedentary living

Losing both parents in very different ways //:// Anxiety

Abusive and unhealthy relationships //:// Extreme grief

Co-dependency //:// Financial issues

Occupational unrest //:// Generally shitty life decisions

I wasn’t living. I was surviving…barely.

This was me…barely surviving.

Until I was on the brink of homelessness and going to battle for my kids, I had no clue that I was not only contributing to my life full of struggles, I was the key player.

Yes, I was the one who was responsible for every day full of feeling anger, resentment, and unhappiness.

I had to do some real deep and unbelievably uncomfortable digging into myself, my thoughts, my beliefs, my patterns, my habits, and even the language I used. Only then was I able to start building the life that I would daydream about (probably at work while hating my job). Eventually I started living again, instead of barely surviving.

I had to learn how to fuel my body with nutrients instead of convenience.

Movement had to become a necessity instead of a chore. The value of quality sleep was increased by a gazillion percent. Loving my career instead of tolerating my job became a must. Feeling happy and capable and alive…non-negotiable. Now, I can (and do) LIVE MORE.

Please don’t misunderstand…this is a daily practice. There is no magical formula that will forever improve the things you want to improve. This is something that has to be continually worked on, tweaked, and polished. It is a perfectly imperfect process.

What I am saying is that if you’ll allow me to sit on the bench alongside you, together we can work to rebuild your soul, finding the power you have inside yourself to take your life back…to LIVE MORE.

I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.
